Your SoCal Travel Guide

After entertaining so many friends and family visitors from out of state and internationally, as well as coordinating fun excursions for my local friends, I thought it would be helpful to create an easy-to-navigate site that assists my visitors in arranging and planning their travel itineraries.

If you are lucky enough to visit Southern California from elsewhere, there is so much to see and do, it can be overwhelming. If you are fortunate enough to live in Southern California we can easily fall into a routine and do the same things over and over.  This site is about introducing excursion ideas in an easy format, whether it’s through my written blogs, short podcasts, or picture slide shows.

I endeavor that this site helps visitors more easily plan their itineraries and fully maximize their trip to Southern California. For those of you living in this beautiful area, I truly hope this site offers some suggestions to shake the habitual rut and discover new and fun excursions.

This site is my small contribution to bringing some happiness and joy to the world, one small SoCal excursion at a time.

About me

Growing up I was fortunate to be exposed to travel and spend a couple of summers in Greece with my family as well as travel to Israel.  These trips live large in my life and helped solidify my desire for adventure and travel.  After graduating from high school, I managed to land a summer job as a White-Water Rafting Guide in Colorado and Utah and continued this wonderful summer adventure for three fantastic youthful years.  This time as a guide, I laid the foundation for discovering a mix between hard work, play, responsibility, and fun.

After graduating college, I continued to search for adventure and moved to Paris and spent a couple of years touring Europe. After returning home, I wasn’t ready to settle down and headed to Mexico.  During my multi-year walkabout, I was able to meet the most fascinating people from all over the world, immerse myself in different cultures and just plain explore and experience as much as I could.

After returning from Mexico, I thought it was time to settle down, get a real job, and start my adult life. I traded in the excitement of travel for the thrill of launching new concepts and the day-to-day challenges of tackling new and unique problems within the start-up world. This allowed me to satisfy my desire for adventure and make a living, but also consumed the entirety of my life.

In the last couple of years, I have rebalanced my work, play, and travel life.  This rebalancing has spurned the genesis of HaveFunSoCal.com

HaveFunSoCal.com

This site is designed to help provide visitors with a first-hand experience of the many wonderful adventures awaiting them in Southern California.

If I enjoyed the excursion or event, I posted it on the website. If I didn’t like it, I left it out.  This site is not intended to be a review site, but rather a site that offers suggestions of fun things to do in Southern California based on my own experiences.

I am always looking for unique and different places to visit in Southern California. If you have any suggestions please reach out to me.
